For the 1st time in 30 years the Bonspiel on the Lake of Mentieth by Aberfoyle looks likely to take place. The ice needs to be 7 inches thick and is fast approaching this now. There have only been 3 Bonspiels since 1945, the last one being 1979. The ervent is likely to bring thousands to the area both competing and watching.

We are situated just over 25 mins away from the lake (no, not a loch but the only lake in Scotland!) and our fully central heated cabins cabins will offer a cosy retreat from those freezing temperatures outside.
